| Bio: | Character's name: Fay (the real one!) Character's age: Unknown - young, looking no older than 11 or 12 Character's gender: Male Series the character is from: Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRONiCLES Point in canon they're being taken from: After his death Brief background: Born into a cold world where birthing twins can lead to an era of misfortune and certain disaster, the twin princes of the country of Valeria, Yuui and Fay, who did not even choose to be born, had little chance to lead their own lives. With both their mother and father dead, the mother having killed herself for giving birth to twins and the father dying from illness, the princes becames orphans and were shunned for causing such a thing, even so far as to be blamed for failing crops and impure water. Even more grievous, both Fay and Yuui had powerful innate magic, born with them as much as they were born with each other. Their magic was so powerful it was feared that the two princes would combine their magic power and surpass even the Emperor, yet no one dared kill the twins for fear of inviting even more misfortune. Surrounded by such harsh bias and presented with cruel realities, the twins never made a choice for themselves until their uncle, the Emperor himself, presented it to them. In order to prevent misfortune from happening, he gave the children an ultimatem: either lived separated from each other in a valley where magic and time have no effect and where the bodies of sinners are left to rot, or have one twin kill the other, ending their existance as twins. Having been given a choice, the twins could only choose to live rather than kill one another. So Fay and Yuui continued to exist in the sinner's valley, Yuui at the bottom where the bodies were dumped, Fay at the top of a tower overlooking the valley, unable to be together for years or longer. Yuui desperately struggled to try and escape the valley so that he could leave Valeria to a different country, hoping that distance would make the misfortune made between twins disappear. Fay at the top of his tower could do nothing but watch his brother struggle in vain, unable to either help or escape his own prison. As time passed and more bodies were being thrown into the valley, even those who could not possibly be sinners, Yuui discovered that the people of Valeria were being murdered by the Emperor who had gone mad due to the misfortune that the twins had brought. Soon after, Yuui came face to face with the Emperor as he threw himself into the valley, accusing the twins one last time of causing the calamity that had befallen Valeria and all its people's death, before killing himself in front of Yuui. With his uncle's dying curse in his ears, Yuui's spirit broke, believing that it was just a sin to have been born, for simply existing. Again, Fay witnessed his brother's grief, still unable to do anything other than cry for the both of them. Broken by grief and having lost the will to live, the brothers still continued to exist in the valley where time was forgotten for several more years. Except one day, Fay lifted himself up to the window to look down on Yuui ... to apologize to him. Saying that if only Fay had died, Yuui could had lived without ever having such thoughts of sin and despair. Soon after, an unknown person who would be later known as Fei Wong Reed, came to the valley and promised each brother that they could leave the valley, but one and only one would get to do so. Having asked the same question to both brothers, the one to answer the strongest was Fay, saying that it didn't matter if he died, only that he was promised that Yuui would get to leave the valley. The next thing Yuui knew was to see his brother Fay being hurled through the air towards the ground and crashing in front of him, dying instantly. With one brother having made his decision, the other was able to leave Valeria and live, taking his brother's name with him. Personality: While not much is shown of Fay during his time locked in the tower of the valley, there are several clues which give insight to his personality. One of the main characteristics of Fay is that he is kind and would do anything he could to protect his brother from harm. Examples of this are shown in the way he calls out to his brother from the top of the tower throughtout their imprisonment, whispering his brothers name when the other is desperately afraid or sad. Not one instance is shown of Fay wanting to leave his brother, except when he wishes to die for Yuui's sake. even then, he Another characteristic is Fay's strength and bravery. When faced with the decision of which brother gets to leave the valley, Fay shows no hesitation in choosing his brother over himself. Fei Wong tells him that Yuui said Fay should be the one to leave, and still Fay states that Yuui will be the one to leave, that it's fine if he dies as long as his brother lives. When Fei Wong questions him a third time, even trying to scare him into changing his mind by reitterating that he will die, Fay, instead of falling for the ploy, makes Fei Wong promise to take Yuui out.
